Winterfest '84
Welcome to the final weekend of Winterfest '84 -- after this, folks, it's going to be time to get back to work for everyone in the Valley! -- That was the start of the Resort Report in the Jan. 20, 1984, issue of the Mountain Ear. Those were the days!
The cover shot featured Rick Lavoie of the White Mountain National Bank's Fallen Angels team at the start of the Annual Winterfest Ice Derby & Obstacle Race in North Conway's Schouler Park.
Ice sculptures and ice skating events added color to the Valley's celebration. Fabrizio's dancer at the Fox Ridge were fun as were the exhibition hockey game featuring the North Conway All Stars playing Berlin (North Conway won).
The movies showing at the North Conway Twin Theatre were: HOT DOG the Movie--there's more to do in snow than ski; Silkwood with Meryl Streep; Terms of Endearment; and Uncommon Valor. And a Volkswagen Turbo Diesel was advertised for $12,113.19 cash from Presidential Motors. Enjoy!
